The concept behind this project was to create a typeface specimen book using one of Adrian Frutiger’s many typefaces. Univers Pro Next was chosen because of the background/pop culture surrounding the year it was first designed, which was in 1957. During the 50s and 60s, the influence of pop art was seen almost anywhere and became a huge art movement. In addition, the American children's author and cartoonist, Theodor Seuss Geisel, released the book “The Cat in the Hat” in 1957. The overall theme of this type specimen book is influenced by pop art and illustrations to showcase the 1957 typeface Univers and relate the theme to the year it was designed.
